Teddy Say's Hello, no it is not Adele, Well not at this point in time……

How cute is this teddy bear? With the release of the 2016 Occasions Catalogue, and the Sale – A – Bration free booklet items, I fell in love with the “Bear Hugs”  clear stamp set and the “Bear Hugs Framelits Dies”

These were my first items on my extensive list. I was able to receive a free item because I spent over $90.00 on products (oops!) and of course this was a Limited Time, free stamp set called “Hello” I just had to have it! At about the same time Adele had released her new album which included the song “Hello”, which of course I received as a Christmas gift!

So with this song booming around the world, and of course in my head, all while I was attempting to design this card to include the bears and the hello sentiment. It going without saying that I love the song and the bear hugs stamp set equally!

The bear’s in the Bear Hug’s bundle are just so cute.  I did find them a bit tricky to use in my crafting repertoire, whilst maintaining my clean and simple policy. So it took a while for the card to come together, but wow I am a happy girl with this one. I totally love it! And how about the stunning combination of the “Tip Top Taupe Cardstock”, the “Tip Top Taupe 1″ Dotted Lace Trim Lace”, along with the equally as luscious Crumb Cake 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. Just love it. It actually looks edible, totally yummy.

Again, this card can be used for any purpose birthday’s, babies, and of course just a hello to a friend. Either way I hope you will love it, and how about that baby bear with his head peeping out!! Squeeeeekkkkkk!

How to make the Bear Hugs Project:

Please note below instructions are in inches as well as centimetres.
  1. Tip Top Taupe Cardstock A4                   11” (L) x 4 ¼” (P) score @ 5 ½
  2. Tip Top Taupe Cardstock Mat                 5 ¼” x 4”
  3. Tip Top Taupe Cardstock Mat                 5” x 3”
  4. Designer Series Vellum                             5” x 3”
  5. Tip Top Taupe Lace Ribbon                     16cm
  6. 16cm Crumb Cake Ribbon                        16cm
  7. Blushing Bride Cart Stock                         6 ½ cm x 7 ½ cm
  8. Pink Pirouette Ink Pad

Create 1st layer of your card as at step one.

Step number two, tape ribbons and layer them around the mat card stock, using double sided tape. Make sure the ends are trimmed so the back of the card is flat. Using double sided tape stick tape.

Step number 3 Take the 5” x 3” vellum. Using versa mark stamp the “hello” sentiment, then cover with white embossing powder and heat using heat gun until, “Hello” is completely embossed and shiny. If your vellum and or paper ever warps a bit just turn it over and use the heat gun to flatten it out.

Stamping time:

Take the Blushing Bride card stock and the Rose Red ink. Using the heart out of the Bloomin’ Love stamp set, stamp the heart onto card stock. Now take a piece of Tip Top Taupe and stamp a small bear using crumb cake or a brown ink pad that you may have. It doesn’t really matter as long as it is brownish! Sponge around the little bear blending the same ink colour to him so he looks warm and blended, your images will always look more blended with your card if you do this, it softens the edges and works really well at taking the edge of the subject. Cut or use your Thinlits Die, to cut out the Bear.

Use double sided tape to stick the embossed vellum onto the 5” x 3” Tip Top Taupe card, the card stock and the vellum should be the same size and you should have your sentiment embossed on the vellum.

Take your sweet heart punch, and at the bottom of the above card/mat place it centred in between the sentiment, taking the punch up as far as it can go, and them punch out a heart shape.

Proportion your bear image on your Blushing Bride card stock image, sticking them down with double sided tape, placing them so you are happy with the way it looks through the heart.

Using double sided tape stick down the mat card to the final top of the card. What how you place it, so that it looks in proportion to the card overall.

Any problems please watch and like and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Take your time, pause when you have too and don’t rush. Practicing and doing a draft version on cheaper paper is a good practice as well. Hope you enjoyed this project.
